Doesn´t only absorb debris and phase seperated liquids, but also larger dissolved molecules and particles.
Drinking water quality has been achived using Biosorbe as a pre-filter.
Great absortion capacity
(13x its own weight)
Prolongs the life expectancy of following costly filter media, such as activated carbon or ion exchange resins.
The Biosorbe fibers provide an efficient filtering step prior to a more costly filter medium, such as activated carbon (AC) or ion exchange resin (IE). The Biosorbe fibrous filter is able to separate nonpolar substance from the water phase, as well as debris and particles.
In case studies, the Biosorbe filter has successfully separated debris and particles, as well as oils, fats, fuels and even long chain PFAS from highly contaminated water. This enables the more costly filtering steps with e.g. AC or IE filters to operate more effectively and for a longer period since clogging particles and substances are separated in the Biosorbe pre-filtering step.
1
The Biosorbe provides a pre-filtering step to separate debris and suspended particles, as well as nonpolar substances and a portion of the longer PFAS chains and hence provide extended lifetime of the GAC, which can more effectively separate the shorter PFAS chains and other small contaminants.
2
Biosorbe is effective in extending the lifetime of other filter media as debris, suspended particles and other nonpolar substances are absorbed and leaves the more expensive GAC medium to handle smaller contaminants i.e. shorter PFAS molecules, heavy metals or odorous and coloring substances.
3
Drinking water purity levels have been achieved from heavily contaminated water samples with Biosorbe in combination with another filter medium.
